The new gi is the same cut as the original Women's Pearl Weave Gis. It's an extremely lightweight gi due to it's custom tight weave pattern. The gi doesn't have the traditional bulky gi feel as the classic standard gis. It has a less constraining fit, which allows for greater flexibility.
It features navy woven labels both on the shoulders and thighs instead of the royal blue trim of the pearl weave series 1. The back consists of a single piece of fabric, unlike most gis which is made up of two or three joining pieces of fabric, allowing greater durability, faster drying, and enhanced comfort when working from the guard. A cool feature is that all Slim Fit Pearl Gis have a hidden mouthguard pocket inside of the jacket!

*Sizes indicated are based on the gi AFTER it has been shrunk in the wash (washing instructions come with the gi). Also, if you're on the border between two sizes, choose the smaller size gi. For example, if you're 5'9" and 170 lbs. you'd be at the top of the F4 sizing but the bottom of F5, in which case you will be much better off with the F4 as the F5 will most likely be too big.

I'm 5'3" and weigh 165 lbs. the GI jacket has a perfect fit for my broad shouldered frame. However, the pants are slim cut and true to the description. I have a toned, curved bottom half. So. Even tho I ordered the size 5 ( the largest size available) the pants are skin tight and nonforgiving of my rounded bottom ??. The pants are made for a more slindee frame. Wish I could purchase the top and bottoms separately and opt for a men's pant.

Definitely slim fit
I'm 5'6" and 170lbs. The gi jacket is very comfortable and a good fit, but the bottoms are VERY slim. I would be unable to train effectively wearing the F5 pants, which is the largest size available. Pairing this jacket with either the classic gi pants or my husband's size A3 pants will be necessary. Wish you could mix and match sizes!
